Brecciated Agate Slabs
Brecciated Agate Slabs are cut from brecciated agate material. The term brecciated refers to a stone that was broken into fragments and then re-solidified as other minerals filled in the vacancies essentially healing the stone.
Agate is a form of microcrystalline quartz. It is usually formed in nodules and has transparent, or translucent portions. As with all of the other species in the quartz family, agate takes a high polish with cerium oxide.
