Pat McMahan Slab Assortment Bags
Pat McMahan has spent twenty-six years passionately hunting for rocks, amassing one of the world’s most extensive collections of sagenite, plume, and banded agates. His collection spans across eleven states in the American West, over a dozen sites in Argentina, and locations in Mexico, Canada, and Alaska. In total, McMahan has gathered, cut, and polished more than 8,000 specimens from approximately 550 different sites. He has showcased his finds at rock shows in both Europe and the United States, written articles for Rock and Gem Magazine and Mineralien Welt, and contributed a section on agates with inclusions to Johann Zenz’s renowned book, Agates II.
The slabs in these Slab Assortment Bags were mostly collected in the field by Pat McMahan himself. Each bag may contain end cuts, and the slabs vary in size, from small pieces suitable for cutting a single cab to larger ones capable of yielding several cabs.
