Turritella (Fossil Stone) Slabs from Wyoming
Turritella consists of small to medium size sea snails that have been fossilized together. When slabbing this material, it’s best to cut the stone in a direction parrallel to the orientation of the shells. This will result in seeing the shell’s long shape which as a more striking appearance.
